05. 05. 2014 / Design studio presentation
At the beginning of May, one of several student presentations took place at the Faculty of Architecture CTU. Students presented their design strategies to urban renewal in structurally more developed sketches and drawings. Studied housing estates were selected among six cooperating cities in Czech republic. Each of these cities will therefore be given by 3 or 4 design proposals of complex urban renewal strategy.

01. 05. 2014 / Martin Veselý – “Housing estates in the social science perspective”
On Wednesday, 29th April, the first Czech guest of the Lecture Series gave speech. Social anthropologist Martin Veselý focused on the topic of inhabitants satisfaction and the relevance of such data. Martin enclosed the lecture by possible scenarios of housing estates future and highlighted the need of coherent and complex vision of housing estates urban renewal which is, unfortunately, still missing.

We kindly invite you to the lecture of Ryszard Nakonieczny which will take place on Wednesday, 24th April 2014 at the Faculty of Architecture CTU. Architect Ryszard Nakonieczny is a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture, Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. He is also a member of the Department of architecture, urban planning and monument conservation at Academy of Science of Poland and DOCOMOMO international commission, which is dedicated to documentation and care of modernist movement architectural monuments.
