  • 16. 04. 2014 / Melinda Benkö – “Housing Estates in V4, What’s Next?” Lecture Series

    The second lecture of our Lecture Series will introduce architect and urbanist Melinda Benkö from Budapest. Melinda Benkö Ph.D. is associate professor, Head of the Department of Urban Planning and Design of the Faculty of Architecture BME. Within the research outputs and lecturing at the faculty, Melinda Benkö deals with various themes including current urban design theories, public space, urban regeneration of historic centers and brownfields as well as large housing estates and decaying neighbourhoods. We expect you at the Faculty of Architecture on 17th April at 6:30 pm.

  • 31. 03. 2014 / Elena Szolgayová – “Housing Estates in V4, What’s Next?” Lecture Series

    We kindly invite you to the first lecture of our Lecture Series dedicated to housing estates urban renewal in Central European countries. Elena Szolgayová, an architect and urban planner, is a managing director of housing policy section and urban development at the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic. Since 90´s she actively deals with the housing policy and the future of housing estates. She has been involved in many UNECE workshops, housing activities and working groups and has contributed to numerous publications dedicated to urban and housing issues.

    Lecture Series programme is set up! During following months, professionals from Czech Republic and other Central European countries will introduce experiences in in urban regeneration of post-war housing estates. Examples of realized or prepared interventions will be shown and some other topics such as place-making, housing policies, sociological and philosophical context will be discussed.

  • 12. 03. 2014 / Workshop “Housing Estates in V4, What’s Next?”

    workshop_04 In between 12th and 15th March student’s workshop took place at the Faculty of Architecture CTU. First day of the workshop was opened by lecture of Jana Kubánková – “Housing estates urban renewal in Europe” on which numerous guests from cooperating municipalities and Prague Institute of Planning and Development were invited. In following days, issues of complex problems of housing estates were presented and possibilities of their regeneration were discussed. Many of mentioned representatives participated in student presentations and consequent discussions.
